Last September Apple released their iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Now Apple is releasing their newest technological advance: the Apple Watch. Their watches come in three different styles including the original watch, the sports watch, and the watch edition and all come in 38MM and 42MM sizes. The original watch comes with a stainless steel case and band and they range in price starting at $550 to $600. The sports watch has a silver or space grey aluminum case and come in various colorful bands such as white, blue, green, and pink. The price begins at $350 to $400. The edition watch comes in 18-karat yellow or rose gold with crafted bands and clasps to compliment the solid gold cases. The edition watches range from $10,000 to $12,000.
Apple is competing with Samsung’s watch and they are stepping much higher adding gold and ranking the price up ridiculously high with it. I find the watch very visually appealing, but a watch should be used only for time not texting or face-timing as it will only create less face-to-face communication with people. I do not think we should have a watch that does exactly what a phone will be doing.
The Apple Watch will have very precise features like the date, time, temperature, and any scheduled reminders. The watch will also have health and fitness features such as the time and distance you were standing, moving, or exercising as well as how many calories you burned. Apple created features to even have a more intimate connection with others as you can record and send your heartbeat or tap your watch and send it to someone and they could feel it on their wrist with the watch.
Apple watch will be available to buy on April 24th, 2015 and they are available to pre-order on April 10th.
